Citation
On the night of January 15–16, 1943, our regiment, acting as the division's vanguard, was ordered to advance to the Bolshoy Potapov farm area within the Northern Donets River region. The rest of our division's regiments followed.
During the river crossing, the unit encountered enemy forces. The 1st Battalion, where Comrade Kazimirov was serving, managed to seize Hill 128.4 on the western bank ahead of the enemy, capturing an enemy artillery battery and six vehicles.
On the morning of January 16, at 08:00, approximately 150 enemy personnel, supported by 19 tanks and 7 armored vehicles, launched a counterattack against the 1st Battalion. The battalion and company commanders were wounded in the battle. Comrade Kazimirov took command, restoring the defensive line and holding the position while inflicting heavy losses on the enemy. His actions helped secure a foothold for our forces to continue the crossing.
During the breakthrough of the fortified enemy defenses along the Mius River in the Stalin Region, at Dmitriyevka, he carried out extensive party and political work while actively participating in the assault alongside the troops. Before the battle, he successfully recruited 238 soldiers and officers into the Party or the Komsomol.
From July 17–18, 1943, he remained within the combat formations of the 1st Battalion, motivating the troops. On July 17, while in the 3rd Company, he took part in repelling four enemy counterattacks.
Between July 17–25, he recruited another 63 soldiers and officers into the Party or the Komsomol.
He is deserving of the Order of the Red Star.
